Description
Felt is a teenage girl with golden hair and crimson eyes, traits linked to the dissolved Lugunican Royal Family, strongly implying she is the missing daughter of Prince Ford Lugunica. Discovered as an infant in the capital's slums, she was raised by the giant Old Man Rom, her adoptive grandfather who named her. With her exact birthdate unknown, she celebrates the day Rom found her as her birthday. Growing up in poverty forged her into a skilled thief, driven by the dream of earning enough to escape the slums with Rom. This harsh upbringing instilled fierce self-reliance, a disdain for authority, and deep resentment towards the kingdom's nobility and government for neglecting the poor.
At fifteen, she accepted a job from Elsa Granhiert to steal Emilia's jeweled insignia, triggering the Loot House Incident. Facing Elsa alongside Rom, Emilia, and Natsuki Subaru, they were saved by Reinhard van Astrea. The insignia's reaction to Felt led Reinhard to recognize her as a potential heir. He took her to the Astrea mansion, preparing her for the Royal Selection against her will. During the ceremony, she openly criticized the nobility and renounced her candidacy. When Rom attempted a rescue and was captured, she reversed her decision to save his life, declaring her intent to win the throne and dismantle the nobility. Rom was then adopted into her camp.
Living with the Astrea family shifted her worldview. She embraced a "survival of the fittest" philosophy, emphasizing adaptability and accepting past choices as necessary for growth. While still fiercely independent and resisting Reinhard's overprotectiveness, she displayed increased strategic thinking and composure. During the Priestella attack, she allowed herself to be Aldebaran's hostage to prevent bloodshed while secretly relaying information. She also played a critical role against the Sin Archbishop Ley Batenkaitos, exploiting her Divine Protection and wielding a metia staff crafted by Echidna that even Reinhard couldn't evade. Ley's attempt to use his Authority failed because "Felt" wasn't her true name, causing him nausea.
Felt maintains fierce loyalty to Rom, trusting his appraisals and treating him as her true family. She refers to Subaru and Emilia as "big brother" and "big sister" for saving her at the Loot House. Her relationship with her knight, Reinhard, is complex; she values his loyalty but chafes at his constant oversight, often trying to evade him. Despite this, she risks her life for his principles, urging him to prioritize knightly duties over her safety when threatened by his father. Later, she participates in diplomatic missions, including negotiations with the Council of Wise Men over the Pleiades Watchtower and escorting the captured Sin Archbishop of Wrath. During the Watchtower expedition, Volcanica attacked her group; Reinhard defended them until Meili Portroute calmed the dragon.
Felt possesses a Divine Protection granting exceptional agility and explosive bursts of speed, enabling her to scale walls and evade pursuers. She relies on this ability more than weapons, though she traditionally carried a knife. Her thieving skills make her an adept pickpocket and infiltrator. After joining the Royal Selection, Reinhard provided new outfits. She transitioned from tattered slum clothes to a light-yellow dress for formal events, and later adopted more practical attire resembling her thief garments but of higher quality: a black top, leather vest, and boots.
Her character appears across multiple story arcs: major roles in Arcs 1 and 5, supporting roles in Arcs 3 and 9, a minor role in Arc 6, and she is scheduled to appear in Arc 8.
