Description
Displaced in time alongside other Gotham criminals by Gorilla Grodd's malfunctioning device, the Joker arrives in feudal Japan's Sengoku period two years before Batman. He immediately exploits the era's warfare, manipulating and overthrowing local feudal lords to seize control of the capital region of Edo. Establishing himself at Arkham Castle (formerly Edo Castle), he proclaims himself "Lord Joker," adopting the titles "Demon King" and "Diruku Tin Mao" (Most Powerful Man in Japan).
His classic appearance—white skin, green hair, yellow eyes with red irises, purple and green clothing—remains, adapted to his new role with a distinctive daimyo-style outfit and a mustache. His mannerisms incorporate theatrical Kabuki gestures.
Psychologically embodying chaotic psychopathy, his core drive is spreading chaos and misery, readily adapting to the feudal setting. Initially ambivalent about lordship, calling it no "aspiration," he fully embraces the power bestowed by circumstance, quipping about making "travel-ade" from "time-travel."
