Marco Mete
Description
Marco Mete is an Italian actor and voice actor born in Rome on October 24, 1955. He was trained at the Accademia Nazionale di Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico and began his career in theatre, working as an actor, director, and playwright. His stage work took him to the United States, Germany, and France. He debuted as a television actor in the late 1970s and has also appeared in films.
Mete is highly active in dubbing, providing the Italian voices for numerous animated characters and live-action actors. In animation, he voiced the character Tochiro in the 2014 Italian redub of the 1982 anime film Arcadia of My Youth, part of the Captain Harlock saga. He also provided the Italian voice for the Joker in the 2018 anime film Batman Ninja. His extensive anime voice work includes roles such as Juza and Ain in Fist of the North Star and Adolf Hitler in Lupin III: The First.
Beyond anime, Mete is renowned for being the longtime Italian voice of Daffy Duck from 1990 to 2022, appearing in numerous Looney Tunes projects. He also voiced Roger Rabbit in both the Italian and Spanish dubs of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Scuttle in The Little Mermaid, Chicken in Cow & Chicken, and Bonkers in Bonkers, among many others. In live-action dubbing, he is the regular Italian voice for actors such as Robin Williams, Bruce Willis, Kevin Bacon, and Martin Lawrence.
Mete's work also extends to dubbing direction and dialogue adaptation. He has directed the Italian dubbing for films by directors such as Christopher Nolan and Guy Ritchie.
