OVA
Description
Noike Kamiki Jurai, originally named Noike Sakazua, is the adopted daughter of Seto Kamiki Jurai. Her origins stem from the female half discarded by Kagato during his creation, which manifested as a young girl. Tenchi Masaki encountered this displaced girl during a temporal shift caused by an injury from Z, comforting her before returning. The girl drifted through space until a woman discovered her; this woman, seeking to retain her boyfriend, had Dr. Clay illegally modify the child, regressing her to infancy. This procedure split her consciousness: the Kagato-derived personality reverted to an astral state, while a new amnesiac identity—Noike—emerged in the physical body, with genetic modifications altering her hair to match her mother's.
Noike's mother later abandoned her at an orphanage to prioritize her relationship. As a child, Noike cared for other orphans and maintained fields to provide food, grappling with feelings of abandonment. Joining the military as an adult, she later trained at the Galaxy Police Academy, achieving Detective 2nd Class and partnering with Mihoshi Kuramitsu. Investigating a traffic accident, she used genetic identification to discover her biological mother was involved. Confronting her, Noike learned the reasons for her abandonment but chose to move forward without further action.
After promotion to Detective 1st Class, Seto Kamiki Jurai adopted Noike into the Royal Family through an arrangement by Mikami Kuramitsu. This bonded her with Kyoko, a secretly powerful third-generation Royal Tree ship designed in response to Ryoko Hakubi's past attack on Jurai. Kyoko manifests as a green blob-like terminal and exhibits jealousy when neglected. Seto then assigned Noike to Earth under the guise of an arranged engagement to Tenchi Masaki, tasking her with monitoring his household due to its concentration of power. Accompanied by Tenchi's sister Tennyo and grandmother Airi, Noike fled upon arrival due to nervousness. She encountered Tenchi in his carrot field, assisting him in exchange for carrots, unaware of his identity until later. Her presence initially caused tension with Ryoko and Ayeka.
Noike integrated into the Masaki household, assuming domestic duties: nursing Tenchi during illness, managing chaos, assisting Sasami with chores, purchasing a truck for fieldwork, and offering driving lessons to Ayeka and Ryoko. She cut her long hair for practicality, wearing wigs for formal events. To ease tensions, she revealed her true surveillance mission to Ryoko and Ayeka while confessing she had developed genuine affection for Tenchi, seeking familial belonging.
Recurring visions of Tenchi rescuing a young girl intensified upon meeting him, causing her to faint. These were later revealed as subconscious memories of her past as Kagato's discarded half. Investigations during Z's attack uncovered Dr. Clay's cellular seal within her, preventing full fusion with the astral girl Kagato and allowing Z to spy through Noike's eyes. Washu removed the seal, enabling the permanent fusion of the girl Kagato with Noike, ending the surveillance and deepening her existing affection for Tenchi, rooted in the girl Kagato's gratitude.
In the altered timeline created by the Chousin goddesses, Noike traveled back in time with the cabbit Fuku to ensure events unfolded correctly, guaranteeing her meeting with Tenchi and Fuku's meeting with Seina Yamada. During the Choubimaru incident, the girl Kagato's subconscious within Noike triggered the ship's cannon, forcing Tenchi to defend Earth and inadvertently recreating the event that sent him to rescue her in the past. By the fifth OVA season, Noike and the other household members mutually agreed to live as a family with Tenchi, receiving blessings for a group marriage. She contributed to Kenshi Masaki's training by instructing him in Galaxy Police tactics.
