Kari Wahlgren is an American voice actress known for a extensive body of work in English-language dubs of anime, as well as in Western animated series and video games. Born on July 13, 1977, in Hoisington, Kansas, she developed an early interest in voice performance, inspired by the voices of Disney characters. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater in 1999 before moving to Los Angeles in 2000 to pursue an acting career. Transitioning from on-camera work to voice-over, her training in dialogue and Shakespeare proved instrumental in her ability to take on a wide variety of roles.
Wahlgren's debut in anime came with the role of the energetic and unpredictable Haruko Haruhara in the cult classic series FLCL. This performance launched a prolific career in the industry.
