Shindoh began her voice acting career in 1999 after graduating from the 15th term of Aoni Production's training school, the Aoni Juku Osaka School. Her early work included minor roles in various anime series, which helped her gain experience in the industry. She achieved her breakthrough in the early 2000s with prominent roles in several major franchises. She is perhaps best known for voicing Cagalli Yula Athha in the immensely popular mecha anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and its sequel Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. Another significant early role was as Shizuru Fujino in the supernatural action series My-HiME and its follow-up, My-Otome. These performances established her as a go-to talent for portraying strong-willed and determined female characters.

Throughout her career, which spans over two decades, Shindoh has built an extensive filmography across television anime, original video animations, and films. Her television credits include roles such as Hokuto Kusanagi in Gear Fighter Dendoh, Kuroudo Marume in Gekito! Crush Gear Turbo, Noike Kamiki Jurai in the Tenchi Muyo! A notable event in her later career occurred in 2023 when it was announced that she would be replaced by Nanako Mori as the voice of Cagalli Yula Athha for the film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom, released in 2024. This marked the end of her long-standing association with a signature role that had spanned over two decades.
