Description
Noike Kamiki Jurai originated as the discarded female half of the hermaphroditic Kagato, a being created by Washu Hakubi from a clone of Naja Akara and a male Ryoko prototype. Rejected due to Kagato's hatred of women, this female aspect manifested as a young girl. Tenchi Masaki, sent into the past during a battle with Z, rescued her and assured her safety before returning to his own time. The girl drifted through space until found by a woman who became her mother. To hide the child's origins, this woman employed Dr. Clay for illegal genetic modifications, regressing the girl to infancy and altering her hair color. This process fractured her consciousness: the original female Kagato personality reverted to an astral form, while a new, amnesiac identity—Noike—took control of the physical body.
Abandoned at an orphanage, Noike worked diligently caring for children and cultivating fields for food, struggling with feelings of abandonment. As an adult, she joined the military before entering the Galaxy Police Academy. She rose to Detective 2nd Class and partnered with Mihoshi Kuramitsu. During service, she encountered her biological mother during a traffic stop. Genetic testing confirmed their relation; her mother explained the abandonment and pleaded for release to preserve her current life. Noike accepted this truth and moved forward. After advancing to Detective 1st Class, she was introduced to Seto Kamiki Jurai, who adopted her into the Jurai Royal Family. Seto bonded Noike with Kyoko, a powerful third-generation royal tree ship secretly engineered after Ryoko's attack on Jurai. Kyoko manifested a green blob-like terminal body displaying attention-seeking behavior born of isolation.
Seto arranged Noike's engagement to Tenchi Masaki as cover for her true mission: monitoring the Masaki household, an unaffiliated concentration of immense power including Jurai royalty, Washu, Ryoko, and Tenchi. Accompanying Tenchi's sister Tennyo and grandmother Airi to Earth, Noike avoided the formal introduction due to discomfort. She instead met Tenchi working in his carrot fields and offered assistance. During this meeting, she experienced a vision of Tenchi rescuing a young girl—subconscious memories of her female Kagato past—and fainted. Recovering, she integrated into the household, taking on practical duties like cooking, nursing Tenchi during illness, and managing chaos. She purchased a truck for fieldwork and taught Ayeka and Ryoko to drive. To ease tensions, she disclosed her surveillance role, though she genuinely fell in love with Tenchi.
Persistent visions culminated during the confrontation with Z, who exploited Dr. Clay's cellular seal—imprinted during her infancy—to spy on Tenchi through her eyes. This seal blocked full integration with the astral female Kagato consciousness. Tokimi removed the marked cells, materializing the female Kagato entity. Washu then dissolved Clay's seal, enabling the entity to merge completely with Noike. The fusion ended the visions and Z's surveillance. Female Kagato's lingering affection for her rescuer, Tenchi, influenced Noike's own feelings. In an altered timeline, Noike manipulated the Choubimaru incident to ensure events repeated, preserving her meeting with Tenchi. She later became part of Tenchi's polygamous family arrangement and contributed to training Kenshi Masaki in Galaxy Police tactics.
Her orphanage background shaped her personality: responsible, level-headed, and proactive in caregiving. She exhibited occasional sternness, particularly toward Mihoshi's inefficiency. Her practical nature led her to cut her long hair for work efficiency, reserving wigs for formal events like Nobuyuki and Rea Masaki's wedding.
