Sacha journeys as protagonist alongside companions Brock, May, and her younger brother Max to the Millennium Comet festival. There, they encounter magician Butler and his assistant Diane, possessors of a stone containing the legendary Pokémon Jirachi. When Max hears Jirachi's telepathic call and rushes toward the stage, Sacha follows, resulting in both being pulled into Butler's magic performance. After Jirachi awakens and bonds with Max, Sacha supports their friendship while remaining watchful for danger. He participates in observing Jirachi's wish-granting abilities. Upon discovering Butler's true plan—to harness Jirachi's power to resurrect Groudon—Sacha helps thwart the initial kidnapping attempt. He then joins the effort to transport Jirachi to its homeland, Forina, using Butler's bus. During the trip, Sacha offers emotional support to Max as he faces separation from Jirachi. Sacha shares his own experience with a past companion, Misty, reassuring Max that true bonds endure despite distance. At Forina, Sacha assists in guiding Jirachi to its resting place but must confront Butler again after an ambush. In the climactic battle against Butler's artificially created Groudon monster, Sacha displays leadership and combat prowess. He coordinates with a wild Flygon to reach Butler's aerial platform, enabling Max and Pikachu to free Jirachi from the energy-draining machine. Sacha later aids in the collective distraction of the rampaging creature, contributing to the resolution where Jirachi defeats the false Groudon before returning to slumber.
