Description
Aurélien Ringelheim is a Belgian actor and artistic director, born on November 22, 1979. He is primarily known for his extensive work in voice acting for French and Belgian dubs of animation, where he has become a prominent and regular voice. He was trained at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles.
Ringelheim is most recognized as the definitive French voice of Sacha, known as Ash Ketchum in English, in the long-running Pokémon anime series. He has voiced the character for numerous seasons and films, starting from the very beginning of the series' run in French. This extensive body of work includes roles in nearly all Pokémon films, such as Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back, Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us, Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, and Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution, as well as series like Pokémon Journeys: The Series and Pokémon: The Arceus Chronicles. Earlier series credits include Pokémon: Black and White and Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl.
Beyond Pokémon, his voice acting portfolio in anime is vast and varied. He voiced Haruo Yaguchi in both seasons of Hi Score Girl. He took on the role of Jun Tendo in Legend of the Millennium Dragon (Onigamiden) and Helios in Metal Fight Beyblade VS Taiyō Shakunetsu no Shinryakusha. Other notable anime roles include Takayuki Narumi in Rumbling Hearts (Kimi ga nozomu eien), Mirai in Saint Seiya: Saintia Shō, and Nazca in Space Symphony Maetel ~Ginga Tetsudō 999 Gaiden~. He has also lent his voice to characters in popular series such as Hunter × Hunter as Pokkle, Haikyū!! as Yū Nishinoya, and as Crow Hogan in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.
In addition to Japanese anime, Ringelheim is active in dubbing Western animation. He is well known as the voice of Kai in the Lego Ninjago series and films, and as Donatello in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and the 2022 film Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie. He has also voiced characters in series like X-Men: Evolution, where he played Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler, and The Fairly OddParents as Remy Buxaplenty.
Alongside his performance work, Ringelheim also works as a director artistique, or voice director, for dubbing projects. This dual role demonstrates his deep involvement and expertise in the localization industry for French-speaking audiences.
