Nazca is a human resistance fighter from the planet La Metal, locked in a conflict between humanity and Queen Promethium's mechanized forces. Witnessing human suffering drives his direct challenge to the Machine Empire's agenda.

Personal loss fuels Nazca's refusal to accept Maetel's brokered peace with Promethium; fallen comrades perished opposing the mechanization program, making coexistence seem callous without defeating the queen first. He frames this struggle as a moral imperative. His exposure of Promethium's hidden domination agenda—initially mistaken by Maetel for genuine peace—ignites civil war on La Metal. This act positions Nazca as a catalyst, compelling Maetel to confront her mother directly.

During the final assault against Promethium, Nazca allies with Maetel, Emeraldas, Captain Harlock, and Tochiro Oyama. Piloting his own spacecraft alongside the Deathshadow and Queen Emeraldas, he forms a small force against the self-replicating machine army. His tactics include deploying Maetel-procured ship shielding to absorb a devastating blast from Planet Promethium's main cannon, disabling it temporarily.

Allies like Harlock and Emeraldas perceive a developing bond between Nazca and Maetel as romantic, hoping for their future together. Moments such as Maetel soothing his injuries or joining him on his ship reinforce this connection, though Nazca remains unaware of these expectations.

Nazca’s story concludes with a sacrifice to destroy Promethium's empire. Recognizing only integration into the Machine Queen’s system can defeat her, he volunteers to become a "machine part." His intense willpower—forged by vengeance and loyalty to fallen comrades—makes him the optimal candidate over Maetel or Emeraldas. This transformation ensures victory but bars him from the peace he helped create. His spectral form later reassures Maetel they will "meet again somewhere in the universe."
