Tōru Taki is a human student and among Takashi Natsume’s closest companions. She possesses short dusty blonde hair, light brown eyes, and stands roughly 160 cm tall, with blood type O and a May 15 birthday. Descended from an ancient lineage of wealthy onmyoji practitioners, Taki experienced a strict upbringing due to her parents' constant overseas work. Raised primarily by her grandfather Shin'ichiro Taki alongside her older brother Isamu—who distanced himself over skepticism toward youkai—she inherited Shin'ichiro’s fascination with the supernatural. After his death when she was ten, she chose solitude in the family home over joining her parents abroad.
In her final middle-school year, Taki uncovered a youkai-summoning circle in her grandfather’s notes. Drawing it revealed a tengu within, proving the circle’s power to let humans perceive youkai.
