Description
Andrew Gilbert Mills, alias Agil, is an African-American man of Japanese descent raised in Ueno, Tokyo, by parents deeply enamored with Japanese culture. In his mid-twenties, he founded the Dicey Café in Okachimachi, a coffee shop-bar that evolved into a local hub. He married Trish, a foreign woman he met through shared interests among his patrons, before becoming one of 10,000 players trapped in the VRMMORPG Sword Art Online.

Within Aincrad, Agil operated a merchant shop on the 50th Floor’s Algade, specializing in equipment appraisal and trade. Though outwardly profit-focused, he discreetly supplied mid-level players with resources to advance toward the frontlines. A skilled axe-wielder and tactical leader, he coordinated strategies during critical boss raids, including the 1st Floor Boss encounter, and aided Kirito and Asuna in pivotal battles, cementing his reliability.

After escaping SAO, Agil reclaimed management of the Dicey Café from Trish, who had sustained it during his absence. He later entered Alfheim Online as a Gnome, retaining his axe-based combat style. During Project Alicization, he joined fellow survivors in transferring his account to the Underworld, risking permanent deletion of his character and items to support Kirito—a gesture of loyalty and debt repayment.

Agil’s pragmatic compassion surfaced through key actions: relaying intel about Asuna’s captivity in Alfheim, distributing the World Seed to revive VRMMORPGs, and participating in quests like the Deep Sea Plunderers to fulfill Yui’s wish. His involvement in the Underworld conflict underscored his prioritization of collective survival over personal gain. Blending merchant acumen, combat expertise, and real-world entrepreneurship, he served as a stabilizing bridge between frontline fighters and support networks across virtual and physical realms.
