Description
Antoine Tomé is a French actor, author-composer-singer, and musician, widely recognized for his extensive work in dubbing, particularly in anime and video games. He was born on March 22, 1951, in Saint-Éloy-les-Mines, France. His path to performance began in his youth, with a passion for comedy ignited while playing Hémon in a production of Jean Anouilh's Antigone. He studied at the conservatory in Clermont-Ferrand, where he earned the first prize in modern comedy. Before dedicating himself fully to acting and music, he led a bohemian life as a young artist in Paris, selling his drawings in the metro and performing in small venues. He also has a parallel career as a singer-songwriter and has invented several musical instruments, including the tricardon. Tomé began his dubbing career under the direction of Michel Eloy. He is a prominent figure in French voice-over, best known as one of the regular French voices for a host of famous actors, including Danny Trejo, John Ventimiglia, and frequently for Dolph Lundgren, John Travolta, Ving Rhames, and Nestor Carbonell. His distinctive voice has also become familiar to audiences of animated series and video games. In the realm of anime, Tomé has voiced a wide array of memorable characters. He also voices the cunning and flamboyant Hisoka in Hunter X Hunter. Another major role is the villainous All For One in My Hero Academia, a part he has played since the show's third season. Beyond the specific roles listed, his anime filmography is extensive. He is the voice of Scar in Fullmetal Alchemist, Alucard in Hellsing Ultimate, and Yomi in Yu Yu Hakusho. He also lends his voice to characters in popular modern series such as Jujutsu Kaisen. In Western animation, he is well-known as the voice of Master Splinter in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and its sequel, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as Gabriel Agreste in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. His work in video games is equally prolific. Tomé is the French voice of iconic characters such as Augustus "Cole Train" Cole in the Gears of War saga, Claptrap in the Borderlands series, and Colonel Irving Lambert in the Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series. He has also provided voices for numerous characters in major role-playing games, including The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the Fallout saga, and the Mass Effect trilogy. In Warcraft III, he famously voiced multiple characters, including Medivh, Rexxar, and Lord Garithos.
