Movie
Description
Annie operates as a thief alongside her younger sister and partner, Oakley, appearing in the fifth Pokémon movie. Their background establishes them as sisters with a history of theft, indicated by their existing reputation. During childhood, Annie evolved Oakley's Gloom into Bellossom without permission, an act Oakley did not forgive, because Annie intended it to become Vileplume instead.

Annie exhibits a distinct personality compared to Oakley. She displays a more laid-back and less goal-driven demeanor, showing greater concern for her physical appearance, designer clothing, and maintaining her hairstyle and makeup than mission specifics. This includes frustration when her expensive outfit was ruined falling into a canal during a confrontation. She expresses open disinterest in the operational aspects of the Defense Mechanism of Alto Mare (DMA), focusing instead on the beauty of the Soul Dew. Despite this, she shares traits with Oakley: charm, vanity, thrill-seeking behavior, confidence, technological proficiency, and ruthless determination. Annie also displays occasional compassion, like smiling upon seeing Latios and Latias reunited. However, she exhibits moments of carelessness, culminating in ignoring Lorenzo's warning and touching the corrupted Soul Dew, causing it to shatter and trapping both sisters within the DMA.

Her relationship with Oakley is complex. They function as partners in crime with a close bond, evidenced by Annie's visible concern when Oakley becomes consumed by the DMA's power and her attempt to rescue her sister. They also argue, particularly when plans unravel. After becoming trapped, they blame each other—Oakley for her power hunger and Annie for her carelessness. Annie generally follows Oakley's lead during their schemes, as Oakley formulates their plans, like the heist targeting the Soul Dew and the Eon Pokémon in Alto Mare.

Annie possesses notable skills. She demonstrates exceptional athleticism and acrobatic prowess, performing complex maneuvers like cartwheels and large leaps effortlessly during combat. She utilizes advanced technology, including specialized goggles capable of identifying Latias in disguise and seeing the Eon Pokémon while invisible, alongside devices like infrared heat-sensing cameras and remotely operated drones. While Oakley often operates their gadgets, Annie is proficient in their use. In Pokémon battling, she commands an Espeon, using it effectively in pursuits and confrontations, such as ordering Psychic attacks to incapacitate opponents like Lorenzo.

Their objective in Alto Mare involves stealing the Soul Dew and capturing the guardian Pokémon Latios and Latias. This goal stems from information obtained during a library heist where they stole an ancient book detailing how the Soul Dew, combined with the Eon Pokémon, could activate the DMA. They infiltrate the Secret Garden, capture Latios, and seize the Soul Dew. Annie primarily acts as support, subduing guards and standing watch while Oakley operates the DMA. The plan fails when the DMA malfunctions, the corrupted Soul Dew shatters upon Annie's touch, and a resulting tsunami threatens the city until dispersed by the Eon Pokémon, leading to Latios's death. Subsequently, authorities rescue Annie and Oakley from the deactivated DMA and arrest them. They are last seen incarcerated in a maximum-security prison, examining a book about Lawrence III and his artifacts, indicating their next target.

The English dub refers to them as members of Team Rocket, assigned the Alto Mare mission by Giovanni, but this affiliation is absent in the original Japanese version.
