Saya appears solely in the prequel film "Shin Kyūseishu Densetsu Hokuto no Ken: Kenshirō-den" (also known as "Zero: Legend of Kenshiro" or "Fist of the North Star: The Legend of Kenshiro"). She is the wife of Yaman and mother to two daughters, Danne and Amo. After Kenshiro's severe defeat by Shin, Saya and her family discover the wounded warrior and take him in. This act of compassion draws the attention of the slave trader Guruma, who captures them. Guruma forces Saya, her family, and Kenshiro into slavery within the labor camp of Gesso City. They perish during the city's destruction in an explosion, with no subsequent appearances in other Fist of the North Star media.
