Description
Takumi Aldini, a 92nd Generation student at Tōtsuki Culinary Academy, is the fraternal elder twin of Isami Aldini. Born in Florence to Japanese-Italian parents, he honed his craft at the family’s Trattoria Aldini under his father’s guidance. He started mastering Italian cuisine at age five, displaying such talent that patrons often favored him over his brother. Before leaving for Tōtsuki, his father gave him a bottle of Aldini Olive Oil as both memento and protective charm.
Takumi possesses bluish-green eyes and short blonde hair styled with a parted fringe and a long central bang; post-Stagiaire, his hair appeared shorter and messier. Frequently noted for exceptional handsomeness, he attracts a dedicated fan club. He wears Tōtsuki’s standard uniform and a custom chef’s jacket bearing "Trattoria Aldini" on the left sleeve—identical to his childhood design. Off-campus, he dresses in fashionable, coordinated outfits, treating self-presentation as self-love.
Hot-blooded and fiercely competitive, Takumi developed a one-sided rivalry with Sōma Yukihira after Sōma declared his ambition to dominate Tōtsuki. Though Sōma acknowledges their rivalry, Takumi pursues it relentlessly, challenging him repeatedly to uphold his family restaurant’s pride. He loathes defeat, reacting bitterly to losses and becoming easily flustered by mistakes or dismissive responses. His signature phrases include "buon appetito" when serving dishes and "grazie" afterward.
His bond with Isami anchors his character. Despite outperforming his brother, Takumi supports Isami unconditionally, pledging to co-run Trattoria Aldini. He fiercely defends Isami if insulted, as seen during the Autumn Election. Takumi also holds intense grudges, exemplified by his vengeful focus on Etsuya Eizan for match-fixing during his quarterfinal against Subaru Mimasaka.
Specializing in Italian cuisine, Takumi evolves beyond complacency. Early overconfidence led to his loss against Subaru Mimasaka, costing him his mezzaluna knife. This defeat spurred growth: he embraced creativity, incorporating non-Italian ingredients like Japanese uruka herb in salsa verde during a camp assignment. His signature dual-handled mezzaluna remains essential, enabling rapid chopping and collaborative use with Isami or Sōma.
Takumi advanced to the Elite Ten Council’s 7th seat in his second year. His rivalry with Sōma matured into mutual respect and friendship, notably during their BLUE tournament partnership against Don Kama, where they improvised a fusion verrine dish. He reconciled with Subaru, later valuing his mimicry skills. In the OVA "Takumi no Shitamachi Gassen," he and Isami dueled an elderly challenger in Tokyo, showcasing adaptability outside formal settings.
Post-graduation, Takumi plans to elevate Trattoria Aldini as a professional chef, leveraging his upbringing in high-pressure service environments.
