Description
Catarina Claes began as the spoiled, arrogant, and cruel antagonist of the fictional otome game "Fortune Lover." As Duke Claes's daughter, she manipulated others to secure her status, bullying her adopted brother Keith and tormenting the game's heroine, Maria Campbell, leading to her demise or exile in each route. She returned as a vengeful antagonist armed with dark magic and the familiar Cerberus in "Fortune Lover II," facing arrest or death based on player choices.

A childhood head injury awakened memories of her past life as a 17-year-old Japanese high school student nicknamed "monkey girl" for tree-climbing. Realizing she was reincarnated into the game world facing inevitable "doom flags," she underwent a profound personality shift. She became kind, earnest, and socially oblivious, adopting tomboyish behaviors and a love for farming and sweets. She pursued skills like gardening and swordsmanship to survive potential exile. Her cross-shaped scar healed by age 15.

Her core traits include extreme denseness regarding romantic advances, misinterpreting affection as kindness or rivalry. Yet she possesses high emotional perceptiveness, identifying and alleviating others' insecurities through genuine support. Her charismatic, unconventional nature attracts a diverse group, including all original capture targets (Prince Geordo, Keith, Prince Alan, Nicol Ascart), heroine Maria Campbell, rivals Mary Hunt and Sophia Ascart, and later antagonists like the pirate Silva or engineer Rozy Lind. Sophia Ascart is revealed as the reincarnation of her past life's best friend, "Acchan," deepening their bond.

Magically, she wields weak earth abilities, mainly "Earth Bump" to trip opponents. A misunderstanding led her to misguidedly cultivate earth magic through farming, which became a genuine hobby. Later, she unintentionally gained dark magic after rescuing Keith from corruption, manifesting as a harmless ink-blot spell ("Dark Bump") and the familiar Pochi, reflecting her pure-hearted nature. Her lack of malice prevents destructive use of dark powers.

Across all media, including the spin-off game "Pirates of the Disturbance," she navigates new doom flags like a pirate attack on a luxury liner while maintaining friendships and inadvertently inspiring romantic feelings. She remains oblivious to romance in the main series, though spin-offs allow relationships with characters like Silva or Rozy. Female admirers like Maria or Mary receive "friendship endings." Her journey consistently emphasizes averting tragedy through kindness, resilience, and unintentional charm.
