Description
Hojo attends Tonoshō Municipal Tonoshō Junior High School as a second-year student, sharing Class 2-1 with classmates Nishikata and Takagi. Regarded by peers as the school's most attractive girl, she cultivates a composed and mature public image. She presents herself as unflappable toward situations she deems childish, emphasizing refined appearance and claiming exclusive interest in mature guys. This cultivated persona contrasts with her private disposition, revealing a gentler, more vulnerable personality particularly evident around childhood friend Hamaguchi.

Her appearance features light skin and a mole beneath her right eye. Her shoulder-length, wavy hair is blonde in the manga and dark brown in anime adaptations, typically styled with a left-side braid and right-side hair clips. While most often seen in her school uniform, she also wears casual home attire like a baggy sweater and glasses, tying her hair in a small side ponytail. She has been seen wearing a yukata.

Her relationship with Hamaguchi forms a core aspect of her character. Having known him since childhood and becoming neighbors in middle school, she feels comfortable revealing her unguarded self only to him. Despite her stated preference for mature personalities, she privately feels jealousy when Hamaguchi does not prioritize her, such as expressing frustration at not being invited to his class's maid café during the second-year culture festival. She actively seeks opportunities to spend time with him, considering joining the cheer squad to support his soccer activities and consulting Nishikata about his birthday preferences.

Her feelings for Hamaguchi gradually surface, culminating in attending the summer festival together. She also displays thoughtfulness towards him, potentially aware of and appreciative of his reciprocal feelings. However, her attempts to align with a mature image face setbacks, notably consistent failures in cooking endeavors where she ruins recipes. Her surname translates to "north" and "article".
