Description
Chiho Sasaki is a 16-year-old human girl working part-time at MgRonald's alongside Sadao Maou. She attends Sasahata North High School as a member of the archery club, holding a 1st kyu or dan ranking in kyūdō. Petite at 150 cm (4'11") with a curvaceous figure, she has light auburn hair featuring two locks held by dark blue ribbons and amber eyes. Her typical attire includes her school uniform—a dark blue collar shirt with a plaid ribbon, light green skirt, black knee-high socks, and brown shoes—or her MgRonald's red t-shirt, black skirt, red visor, and hair often tied in two ponytails.

Her personality is strong-willed, polite, friendly, and pleasant. She harbors deep romantic feelings for Sadao Maou, frequently experiencing jealousy towards Emi Yusa, whom she initially misinterprets as a romantic rival due to the complex nature of Maou and Emi's early relationship. Despite her ordinary human status, persistent proximity to Maou and other Ente Isla natives leads to unique developments.

Her connection began when her father, a police inspector, encountered Maou and Shiro Ashiya loitering upon their arrival on Earth; this later aids her identification during emergencies. She discovers Maou's identity as the Demon King during a Lucifer-orchestrated hostage situation that exploits her emotional turmoil. Witnessing the subsequent battle confirms the supernatural truths surrounding Maou, Emi, and their allies.

Her abilities evolve significantly under Ente Isla's influence. After Maou's hypnosis spell targeting her father inadvertently affects her, she gains fluency in Ente Isla's language. She later learns the Idea Link communication spell from Sariel, Emi, and Suzuno Kamazuki, enabling distress signals. Her school-honed archery skills receive magical enhancement; external power temporarily boosts them to defend Maou and Emi from angels, and she eventually masters using magic to augment her archery.

Her role expands beyond bystander. Appointed a Demon General in Maou's army, she gains demon community respect. Determined to support friends, she delves into Ente Isla's conflicts, including Spear of Adramelechinus politics. In later arcs, she interacts with Miki Shiba, landlady of Villa Rosa Sasazuka, who recognizes the Celestial Force within her. Acknowledging her physical limitations during this encounter, Chiho resolves to understand the Sephirah Jewels' crisis to provide knowledge and moral support. Miki Shiba reveals Earth once had its own Tree of Life, and Chiho learns Sephirah fragments must remain in their native worlds to prevent extinction—a revelation impacting her perspective on entities like Alas Ramus.

Her romantic arc concludes with her relationship with Maou solidified in the light novels, transitioning from a high school crush to a committed partner actively engaging in interdimensional conflicts, supporting Maou's endeavors while maintaining her human identity.
