Alas Ramus is a fragment of the Sephirot’s Yesod who first appeared as a purple crescent-shaped crystal. Planted in a castle garden three centuries ago, the crystal grew into a tree before transforming into a silver-haired toddler with violet-streaked strands and luminous purple eyes. She wears a yellow sleeveless dress. Emerging from a golden apple, she instinctively calls Sadao Maou and Emi Yusa her “papa” and “mamma,” forming a deep attachment to them as her adoptive parents. Her delicate features blend those of her guardians: her eyes and mouth mirror Emi’s, while her forehead and brows echo Maou’s. Despite her toddler-like demeanor, she demonstrates advanced intellect, devising battle strategies and articulating nuanced emotions. She can merge with Emi’s sacred sword, taking an incorporeal form that allows her to intervene in battles. She is deeply attached to her extended family, including Chiho Sasaki and Suzuno Kamazuki, whom she regards as older sisters. Her younger sister, Acieth Alla, appears later. Her name comes from Ente Isla’s trade language, meaning “wings” and “branch,” symbolizing her connection to a celestial tree. Though she exhibits the curiosity and sensitivity of a very young child and requires infant-like care, her cognitive maturity creates a striking contrast. Her existence serves as a catalyst, deepening the bond between Maou and Emi and highlighting themes of chosen family.
