Description
Hanzō Urushihara, also known as Lucifer, is a fallen angel and former archangel who shifts from antagonist to reluctant ally. Born after the angels’ homeworld collapsed, he ascended to lead the second generation of archangels before abandoning heaven’s monotony. His rebellion triggered a demonic transformation, marked by black wings symbolizing corruption. Drawn by chaos and freedom, he allied with Satan Jacob during the demon realm’s unification, later spearheading the Western Continent’s conquest in Ente Isla’s invasion. Ruthless tactics, including village burnings, culminated in his apparent demise when hero Emilia Justina impaled him with her sacred sword.

Surviving through secret intervention by rogue archbishop Olba Meyer, Lucifer bargained for heavenly redemption by aiding Satan’s downfall—only to betray Olba, orchestrating chaos that empowered Satan to crush mutual foes. Post-conflict, he adopted a human guise, residing with Sadao Maou and Shirō Ashiya. His teenage appearance—purple hair, violet eyes, casual attire—belies celestial origins. Earth’s constraints weaken his powers, forcing reliance on absorbed negative emotions to fuel abilities like explosive feathers, energy projectiles, flight via black wings, and heightened endurance. Holy-infused food briefly restores his white wings and holy magic.

Lazy and apathetic, Lucifer prioritizes video games and internet escapism over duty, embodying hikikomori and NEET stereotypes. Though cunning and aloof—manipulating others to retrieve his console or hack devices—he sporadically acts selflessly, selling possessions to aid allies or leveraging residual angelic authority. Allergies to dust, cats, and motion sickness ground his supernatural existence in mundane quirks.

Evolving from bored instigator to protective recluse, Lucifer rejects Olba’s later alliances, clinging to his gaming-centric life. Rare glimpses of his archangel past emerge when commanding angelic subordinates or referencing prior leadership. His arc balances self-interest with latent loyalty, masking a desire to safeguard his fragile human-world routine beneath a detached facade, embodying the tension between celestial legacy, demonic ties, and earthly adaptation.
