TV-Series
Description
Ena Saitō, a Motosu High School student and close companion of Rin Shima, sports fair skin, short brown hair swept leftward, and striking blue eyes. Her outdoor wardrobe features a puffy blue coat, maroon leggings, grey boots, a white-and-blue scarf, gloves, and earmuffs, paired with the standard female school uniform. Her spirited Chihuahua, Chikuwa, dons playful accessories like bunny ear hoods, earning her the moniker “Owner of the Rabbit Dog.”

Initially declaring herself part of the “go-home club” to sidestep the Outdoor Activities Club, she slowly warms to group camping, sharing tents and contributing luxe gear—such as a premium winter sleeping bag—hinting at her affluent upbringing. Her dynamic with Rin blends sarcastic text banter and lighthearted bonding, like crafting a chignon hairstyle for her. Acting as a mediator, she bridges communication gaps between the reserved Rin and others.

She later aids the club by repairing their tent and unintentionally disclosing Rin’s whereabouts to Nadeshiko. Balancing part-time roles—sorting New Year’s cards and working at a Uchibuna Station convenience store—she gleans insights into Rin’s life. Her budding camping passion emerges through investments in cold-resistant equipment and participation in trips like the Asagiri Plateau Christmas camp.

Post-graduation, she transitions from styling Rin’s hair to experimenting with others’, including giving Chiaki a fresh haircut. A decade later, she resides solo in Yokohama as a pet groomer, navigating the city in a Fiat 500. Reuniting with friends to bolster Chiaki’s campsite venture, she spearheads public relations and pitches a dog run. When an archaeological discovery tied to Chikuwa delays the project, she crafts and narrates a promotional video to rally support.

Her name, Ena, merges “favor” (恵) and “that” (那), while Saitō signifies “simultaneous” (斉) and “wisteria” (藤). She clinched fourth place in the series’ 2021 popularity poll.
