Description
Yōtarō Rindō, a young prince from the destroyed planet Aristera, was rescued as an infant by Michael Cronin following his parents’ deaths during their homeworld’s collapse. Relocated to Earth, he lives under the guardianship of Takumi Rindō at Border’s Tamakoma Branch, adopting the Rindō surname to mask his royal heritage and assimilate into Border’s shelter system. Though not biologically related to the Rindōs, he shares a sibling bond with Ruka Shinoda, another heir to Aristera’s throne.
A small child with tousled black hair, Yōtarō wears a red puffy vest, black sleeves, slacks, and white shoes. His custom helmet, fitted with goggles crafted by Reiji Kizaki, shields him during his impulsive clashes and energetic outbursts. Bold and naively direct, he once proposed marriage to Chika Amatori moments after meeting her. His mischievousness fuels playful conflicts and blunt remarks, yet he displays empathy, such as comforting Hyuse by inviting him to pet his capybara companion Raijinmaru’s belly.
Yōtarō’s Trion level ranks 7/14 on Border’s scale, granting him a Side Effect that enables rudimentary communication with animals, receiving “yes” or “no” responses based on their intelligence. Unaware of Raijinmaru’s true nature, he believes the creature to be a simple pet, though it is later revealed as Aristera’s Crown Trigger—a potent Trion weapon disguised as an animal.
Actively involved in Border’s missions, he observes training matches with agents like Yōsuke Yoneya, cheering wildly for Yuma Kuga’s victories, and contributes to strategic talks on repelling Neighbor invasions. His survival, alongside Ruka’s, was orchestrated by Cronin to safeguard Aristera’s heirs, embedding him into Border’s efforts to bridge human-Neighbor relations.
Yōtarō’s bond with Raijinmaru blends companionship and unintended reliance on a weapon. As Tamakoma’s spirited ward, he navigates relationships with agents like Reiji and Konami with curiosity, while his interactions with Hyuse and Chika oscillate between childlike antics and moments of emotional depth. His presence embodies Tamakoma’s ethos, merging royal legacy with Earthly adaptability through unbridled energy and a thirst for connection.
