Description
Saffron Henderson is a Canadian voice actress and singer, born on December 25, 1967, who is prominently known for her extensive work in English dubs of anime series, frequently in collaboration with Ocean Productions in Vancouver. Her career in voice acting began in the late 1970s, with one of her earliest roles being the voice of Tetsuro Hoshino in the English adaptation of the 1979 film Galaxy Express 999.

Henderson is recognized for her versatile vocal range, often cast in roles that include young boys, teenage girls, and mature or flirtatious women. Among her most celebrated performances are the young versions of the characters Goku and Gohan in various English dubs of the Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z series. Her portrayal of Gohan was a defining role for the character in multiple adaptations, including the Funimation and Saban Entertainment dubs, as well as later projects like Dragon Ball Z Kai. Another significant role was Lucrezia Noin in the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing series and its sequel, Endless Waltz. Her film work includes voicing the title character Tetsuro in Adieu Galaxy Express 999 and Kazuko Yoshiyama in the English version of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.

In addition to these prominent roles, Henderson has contributed her voice to a vast array of other anime series. She voiced Bloodberry in Saber Marionette J, Shenhua in Black Lagoon, Sachiko Yagami in Death Note, Sherry Belmont in Zatch Bell!, and Oxnard in Hamtaro. Her work within the medium also extends to characters in major franchises such as Sota Higurashi in Inuyasha and its films, and Kurenai Yuhi in the early episodes of Naruto. She also played various roles in the Ranma ½ franchise, including Tsubasa Kurenai, a character referenced in the user's prompt under the title Team Ranma vs. The Legendary Phoenix. Her work is not limited to anime, as she has also voiced characters in Western animated series like X-Men: Evolution as Callisto and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic as Auntie Lofty.

Throughout her career, Henderson has been a consistent presence in the Vancouver voice acting community, leading to frequent collaborations with a stable of fellow actors and voice directors. She has worked extensively with voice actors such as David Kaye, Paul Dobson, Scott McNeil, and Terry Klassen across numerous projects, including Dragon Ball, Gundam Wing, and Inuyasha. She has also often worked under the direction of Karl Willems and with directors like西尾大介 on multiple Dragon Ball features. Her tenure on Dragon Ball Z concluded before the Cell Games Saga, as her wedding schedule conflicted with the recording sessions, leading to her replacement by Jillian Michaels for the character of Gohan.

Beyond voice acting, Henderson comes from a musical family; she is the daughter of Bill Henderson, the lead guitarist and singer for the Canadian rock band Chilliwack, and her sister Camille is also a singer. She has performed as a backing vocalist on several albums, including Paul Rodgers' 1999 album Electric. Her talents also extend to live-action roles, with appearances in films such as The Fly II, where she took over the role of Veronica Quaife, the romantic comedy Cousins, and Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. In addition to her performance work, she has served as an instructor at On the Mic Training, a voice-over school in Vancouver.
