Description
Keisuke Takahashi emerges from a bosozoku past, steered into street racing by his older brother, Ryosuke Takahashi. Standing 182 cm tall with a lean build and spiky blond hair, his fiery temperament contrasts sharply with Ryosuke's calm. This hot-headed nature fuels an intense aversion to defeat, causing his early driving to swing wildly between confident surges and frustration-induced stumbles. He harbors specific dislikes: four-wheel-drive rivals like the Nissan Skyline GT-R and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, and those he deems frivolous, such as "bubble-brained school girls."

He launches his racing career with the Akagi RedSuns as their second driver, piloting a yellow Mazda ɛ̃fini RX-7 Type R (FD3S). Alongside Ryosuke, he forms the formidable "Rotary Brothers." A pivotal downhill practice run on Mount Akina shatters his pride when Takumi Fujiwara's Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 unexpectedly defeats him. This loss ignites a fierce rivalry, deepened further by a subsequent, formal defeat on Akina. Driven by obsession, Keisuke dedicates himself to honing his skills to surpass Takumi.

Following the RedSuns' dissolution, Keisuke joins Ryosuke's elite Project D as the uphill specialist. Under Ryosuke's guidance, his approach evolves from pure emotion towards analytical precision. Competing across Japan with Project D, he secures notable victories: employing tactical feints against Seiji Iwaki's Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV on Akagi; mastering tire strategy against Kozo Hoshino's Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 on Tsukuba Fruits Line; capitalizing on technical weaknesses against Smiley Sakai's Honda Integra Type R; and seizing victory from Go Hojo's Honda NSX after opponent errors. These battles forge a maturing skill set blending strategy with speed.

His relationship with Takumi transforms from bitter rivalry to grudging respect and eventual camaraderie within Project D. Initially seeing Takumi only as a target for redemption, Keisuke ultimately acknowledges his rival's abilities, convincing him to join Project D and recognizing the value of their competition. His loyalty to Ryosuke remains absolute, accepting his brother's direction without question. Romantically, a connection forms with fellow RX-7 driver Kyoko Iwase after she aids him during a breakdown. Though mutual affection is admitted, Keisuke prioritizes his racing ambitions, declining a relationship to focus entirely on Project D.

After Project D concludes, Keisuke transitions to professional circuit racing, taking team mechanic Tomiguchi with him. He eventually retires from active competition and establishes himself as CEO of TK Mach Corporation, a conglomerate in real estate and automotive parts. In this later phase, he contributes to the MF Ghost series by recording demonstration runs that set course records. He also mentors emerging talents like Sena Moroboshi, sharing his expertise with the next generation.
