Description
Pazu serves as an investigator in Public Security Section 9 within the Stand Alone Complex continuity. Prior to joining, he was rumored to have ties to multiple Japanese yakuza groups, leading to his reputation as the unit's "dirty cop" due to his underworld connections and tactics. The circumstances of his recruitment remain unclear, yet he maintains unwavering loyalty to the team.

Functioning as a versatile field agent and backup jack-of-all-trades, he is regularly paired with bomb specialist Boma for operations needing street-level investigation or under-the-table intelligence gathering. His combat skills emphasize folding-knife use and street fighting, reflecting a pragmatic, brutal approach.

Pazu exhibits a cold, detached, and unpredictable personality, described as a lone wolf capable of violence. A chain smoker and self-proclaimed womanizer, he famously stated he "never sleeps with the same woman twice." This rule directly caused a critical incident during the Individual Eleven case when an ex-lover, Kaori Kawashima, surgically altered her appearance to match his prosthetic body after he broke his rule by sleeping with her twice. Obsessed, she targeted him to assume his identity. After gaining permission from Section 9's commander to handle the matter personally, Pazu confronted Kawashima. Their knife fight ended with one fatally stabbed in the eye. While the ambiguity of the survivor's identity was acknowledged within Section 9, Pazu continued operations with the team afterward, including during the Refugee Revolution.

He maintains relatively good off-duty relationships with Boma and Batou, though his background and demeanor set him apart from other core team members. His role typically involves discreet investigative support rather than high-profile operations. His presence is noted during later events like the Solid State Society incident.
