Description
Doraemon began as a standard model MS-903 robotic cat manufactured on September 3, 2112, at the Matsushiba Robot Factory. Temporal terrorists caused a power surge during production, striking Doraemon with an electrical bolt that dislodged a critical screw and sent him into a waste disposal system. This accident inflicted permanent performance defects and substandard functionality. The robotic dancer cat Noramyako rescued him from an industrial furnace, marking their first meeting and igniting Doraemon's lasting affection for her.

His manufacturing defect caused significant challenges at the robot academy. He displayed poor coordination, frequent short circuits, erratic flight with the Take-copter, slow gadget retrieval from his four-dimensional pocket, and excessive energy consumption leading to disproportionate eating. These deficiencies classified him as an outmode, requiring remedial classes with similarly underperforming robots. His academic struggles persisted, resulting in consistently low test scores despite support from classmates like Noramyako, Jaides, and Sunekuchi.

During a graduation audition where robots demonstrated skills for potential owners, Doraemon's malfunctioning gadgets caused repeated failures. His prospects seemed dire until the infant Sewashi Nobi accidentally selected him. Sewashi's parents reluctantly accepted Doraemon due to their son's immediate attachment and their own financial constraints. Doraemon formed a close bond with Sewashi while serving as his caretaker.

A critical incident occurred when Sewashi tried to sculpt a clay replica of Doraemon. Dissatisfied with the ears, he instructed a robotic mouse to modify them. The mouse misinterpreted the command and gnawed off Doraemon's actual ears. Surgical repair attempts failed catastrophically when a sneeze during the procedure caused gadget malfunctions, resulting in complete ear removal. This incident triggered Doraemon's severe musophobia and deepened his existing insecurities about being earless. Noramyako's inadvertent laughter at his appearance further wounded him emotionally.

In deep depression, Doraemon attempted self-medication with a "cheer-up potion" but mistakenly consumed a "sorrow potion." He wept uncontrollably for three days, washing off his original yellow paint to reveal the blue base layer underneath and permanently altering his voice to a deeper tone. This established his iconic blue appearance and raspy voice. Sewashi later gifted him a blue, earless clay figurine, symbolizing acceptance of his transformed state. Noramyako also reconciled with him, expressing admiration for his new look.

Doraemon later demonstrated accidental heroism when Sewashi was kidnapped by temporal terrorists. While searching, Doraemon ingested a speed-enhancing potion and inadvertently jammed the terrorists' aircraft exhaust with his head, facilitating their capture. This act solidified his value to the Nobi family. Ultimately, Sewashi dispatched Doraemon to the 20th century to improve the circumstances of his ancestor, Nobita Nobi, initiating Doraemon's primary mission.

Personality traits include a strong preference for dorayaki, originating when Noramyako introduced them to him during training. He exhibits intense musophobia and iatrophobia, often reacting hysterically to mice or medical check-ups. He harbors persistent resentment toward being mistaken for a raccoon dog due to his earless appearance. Despite his defects, he displays loyalty, compassion, and occasional resourcefulness, particularly in crises involving those he cares about.
