Doraemon is a robotic cat manufactured on September 3, 2112, at the Matsushiba Robot Factory as model MS-903. An electrical accident during his production caused critical damage, resulting in subpar performance and classification as an inferior product during training. Sewashi Nobi purchased him due to his affordability despite these flaws. Originally yellow with functional ears, Doraemon's ears were later gnawed off by robotic mice at the Nobi residence. A failed surgical repair attempt left him completely bald. Mocked by other robotic cats, especially Noramyako whom he admired, Doraemon fell into depression. He consumed a "sadness potion," weeping until his yellow paint washed off, revealing his permanent blue color. This incident also altered his voice and instilled a lifelong, severe phobia of mice. Physically, Doraemon has a blue body with white facial features, limbs, and stomach. He possesses a red tail functioning as a power lever and a collar with a bell. His lack of ears frequently leads to mistaken identity as a raccoon dog, which angers him. A four-dimensional pocket on his abdomen stores over 1,900 futuristic gadgets. He converts consumed food into energy via an internal nuclear furnace and can expand his mouth to ingest large objects. Personality-wise, Doraemon exhibits kindness and loyalty, especially toward his charge, Nobita Nobi, whom he was sent from the 22nd century to aid. He displays vulnerabilities like iatrophobia (fear of medical check-ups) and impulsiveness under stress, often retrieving irrelevant gadgets when panicked. His intense fondness for dorayaki (red bean pastries) borders on gluttony and is frequently exploited to manipulate him. He harbors affection for cats, both robotic and biological, sometimes neglecting duties to pursue this interest. Doraemon maintains a close bond with his sister, Dorami, though she occasionally criticizes his leniency toward Nobita. His dynamic with Nobita involves frequent exasperation due to Nobita's ineptitude, yet their friendship remains foundational, with Doraemon committed to improving Nobita's future.
