Description
Chibiusa Tsukino, formally Princess Usagi Small Lady Serenity, hails from the 30th-century utopia of Crystal Tokyo as its crown princess. Her parents are Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion, the future selves of Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba. Though chronologically over 900 years old, exposure to the Silver Crystal halted her physical and mental development, leaving her with the appearance and demeanor of a young child until her latent powers awakened.

The nickname "Chibiusa," meaning "little rabbit," sets her apart from her mother Usagi ("Rabbit of the Moon"). Her distinct look features bright pink hair styled in cone-shaped odango resembling rabbit ears, paired with red eyes.

Her journey to the 20th century is prompted by catastrophe in Crystal Tokyo. Bullied for lacking apparent royal powers, she succumbed to peer pressure and stole her mother's Silver Crystal. This coincided with an attack by the Black Moon Clan, encasing Neo-Queen Serenity in crystal and leaving her father and the Inner Sailor Guardians comatose. Overcome by guilt, Chibiusa took a Space-Time Key from Sailor Pluto and traveled to the past seeking Sailor Moon's help.

Arriving in the 20th century, Chibiusa initially hid her identity and confrontationally demanded the Silver Crystal from Usagi. Her early interactions were marked by jealousy towards Usagi and an Electra complex towards Mamoru, whom she called "Mamo-chan". Manipulated by the Black Moon Clan, she was abducted by Wiseman, who exploited her feelings of neglect to transform her into Black Lady. This artificially aged persona wielded the Malefic Black Crystal against the Sailor Guardians until Sailor Pluto's sacrifice broke Wiseman's control. Usagi's compassion then catalyzed Chibiusa's awakening as Sailor Chibi Moon. Together, they defeated Death Phantom, restored Crystal Tokyo, and Neo-Queen Serenity sent Chibiusa back to the past for formal Sailor Guardian training.

Her Sailor Guardian form debuted with a dark pink leotard featuring armored chest plating, a matching collar and skirt, white gloves with pink armbands, and rabbit-ear hair accessories. Progressing to Super Sailor Chibi Moon introduced a gradient-colored skirt, golden collar stripes, wing-like shoulder pads, and a heart-adorned choker. Her ultimate Eternal Sailor Chibi Moon form added star motifs, layered skirts, elongated gloves, and v-shaped boot accents. Her attacks included "Pink Sugar Heart Attack" and collaborative techniques like "Rainbow Double Moon Heartache" with Sailor Moon.

During her training, Chibiusa matured significantly. The Dream arc highlighted her partnership with Helios, guardian of Elysion, whom she aided against Queen Nehellenia. Their bond deepened into mutual affection, culminating in a farewell kiss after Nehellenia's defeat. Her friendship with Hotaru Tomoe proved equally pivotal; she protected Hotaru despite her identity as Sailor Saturn, the herald of destruction. This loyalty led Chibiusa to relinquish her Pure Heart Crystal to save Hotaru, who later returned it during Sailor Saturn's rebirth.

In the Stars arc, Chibiusa returned alongside the Sailor Quartet to assist Eternal Sailor Moon against Sailor Galaxia. By this stage, her earlier insecurities evolved into steadfast courage, willing to sacrifice herself to protect others. Her relationships also shifted: while retaining a sisterly rivalry with Usagi, she developed greater respect for her parents' present-day selves. Additional bonds included her guardianship of Diana, Luna and Artemis's daughter, and her mentorship under Sailor Pluto.

Alternate media portrayals diverged slightly. The musicals featured additional attacks like "Silver Crystal Double Therapy Kiss" and adjusted uniform designs with gold lining. The "Parallel Sailor Moon" spin-off depicted a 15-year-old Chibiusa aspiring to be a bureaucrat, coexisting with a younger sister, Kousagi.
