Description
Navirou is a distinctively featured Felyne with a chubby build, thick whiskers, an oversized head, and a bushy squirrel-like tail. This puzzling appearance predates his genetic experimentation. A visible "5" tattoo on his right wrist identifies him as a former test subject of the mad scientist Doctor Manelger. These experiments involved splicing Zinogre genes, granting him the ability to transform into a Thunder Form characterized by yellow spiky fur, bolt-shaped whiskers, jagged blue eyes, and a blue paw print on his belly. This form enables electrical attacks and activates primarily when his friends are in danger. The modifications also prevent him from triggering allergies in certain individuals.

Suffering from amnesia that obscures his early history, he was previously known as Number 5 among "The Numbers"—a group of Felynes modified by Manelger. He befriended another Felyne, Orgo, and collaborated with The Numbers to escape the laboratory. During the escape, he fell into the ocean, washing ashore at Koapni Village where Felyne Pansy rescued him under Chief Mallerie's oversight. In Koapni, he grew close to Pansy and local gang boss Tiger. After accidentally using his thunder powers to protect Pansy from Jaggi, Tiger blamed him for endangering her. Believing his abilities threatened the village, Navirou departed without farewells, deepening Pansy's sadness and Tiger's resentment.

His travels led him to Hakum Village, where he adopted his current name and became navigator for the novice Rider Lute. Together, they confronted the Black Blight crisis, purifying infected monsters and thwarting Manelger's artificial Kinship Ore experiments. During this journey, Navirou reunited with The Numbers and helped free Manelger's captive Felynes. He revisited Koapni Village, where Pansy proposed a committed relationship. Despite societal expectations and her persistence, he declined, choosing personal autonomy over traditional commitments, an act some observers interpreted as defying conventional life paths.

After resolving the Black Blight, Navirou temporarily parted ways with Lute, journeying to Hakolo Island. There, he mentored another novice Rider through a crisis involving the Razewing Ratha and Rage-Rayed monsters. Across his adventures, he consistently acts as a supportive companion, offering guidance and leveraging extensive world knowledge. His personality blends cheerfulness, bravado, and comedic delusions of grandeur, often punctuated by running gags like crossing his arms in an "X" when frustrated or striking "Navi-rule" poses. He exhibits cowardice toward threats like Deviljho or Nargacuga while maintaining a brave facade. His fondness for well-done steaks and donuts is frequently noted.

In other media, he appeared in the limited-time collaboration event "Visitor from Another Story," assisting hunters in completing quests to earn exclusive rewards like the Navirou Mask layered equipment.
