Aleksandra Vladimirovna Litvyak, nicknamed Sanya, was born on August 18, 1930, in Moscow, Orussia. Raised in Vienna by musician parents, she studied piano under her father’s tutelage. During an evacuation attempt to the Ural Mountains amid Neuroi incursions in the Black Sea, her parents vanished en route. She clung to hope of their survival, frequently humming a melody her father composed for her.
Inspired by Squadron Leader Marisha Raskova, Sanya joined the Orussian military. After training with the 586 Fighter Regiment, she transferred to the 501st Joint Fighter Wing. She achieved the rank of Flying Officer by 1944 and later Flight Lieutenant. Her petite frame (152 cm) and silver hair earned her the moniker "White Lily of Stalingrad" or "White Lily of Tsaritsyn."
Sanya wielded "Space Magic," manipulating radio waves via cat ear-like "Magic Antennae." This granted her rare abilities: long-range Neuroi detection, night combat expertise, and radio wave interference. Armed with a Fliegerhammer rocket launcher, she deployed combat techniques like "Vernichtung" and "Sturmkraft Brecher." Her Striker Units progressed from MiG60 models to the prototype MiG i-225, typically painted for nocturnal missions.
Introverted and reserved, Sanya spoke softly and moved with a ghostly demeanor. Sunlight sensitivity caused daytime lethargy, cementing her nocturnal lifestyle. Despite struggling with self-doubt and social interactions, she yearned for companionship. Her musical upbringing surfaced in skilled piano performances and a gentle singing voice.
Her deepest bond was with Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen, her 501st partner. Their relationship evolved romantically, with Eila assuming a protective role. They relocated to Suomus, adopting a daughter, Aina Ilmatar Juutilainen. Sanya also bore a biological daughter, Anna Litvyak. During a visit to Suomus, Sanya reunited with her long-lost parents.
Key operations included forming the 501st’s night combat team alongside Yoshika Miyafuji and Eila; eliminating a Neuroi specifically hunting her; and assaulting a stratospheric Neuroi core using rocket boosters—an engagement where Eila shielded her. She fought in the liberation of Gallia, the Romagna campaign against the "Super Hive," and Operation Southwind to reclaim Berlin.
Her legacy encompassed descendants Valterri Iilvari Virtanen and Aleksandr "Sasha" Gavriil Kistanov. Historical records note her basis on Lydia Litvyak, a Soviet WWII pilot. After mortal death, Sanya attained immortality and remained active through 1970.
