Description
Suneo Honekawa serves as a supporting character in *Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's New Dinosaur*, displaying his established traits within the film's key events. Wealthy and often arrogant, he habitually flaunts his possessions to provoke envy, especially in Nobita, and devises excuses to exclude him, such as citing limited space on group outings. His materialistic tendencies and sense of entitlement stem from his family background, featuring a successful businessman father and an overprotective, indulgent mother.
Joining Nobita, Doraemon, Shizuka, and Gian on a journey to the Late Cretaceous to return the twin dinosaurs Kyu and Myu, Suneo exhibits his signature blend of cowardice and cunning. Faced with prehistoric dangers, he panics and shows reluctance, consistent with his aversion to peril. Yet, he demonstrates resourcefulness by using the Tomodachi Chocolate gadget to tame a Sinoceratops he names Top, aiding the group's mobility and safety.
Suneo's observational skills later become critical. After he and Gian are captured by the antagonist Jill, Suneo identifies a mysterious island as Nobita's enlarged "Breeding Diorama," accidentally dropped earlier. This discovery allows the group to use the diorama as a sanctuary for dinosaurs during the Cretaceous extinction. Despite his usual self-centeredness, Suneo collaborates with Gian under duress to guide stampeding dinosaurs toward a rescue zone, revealing occasional cooperation and bravery.
His interactions with the group reflect his complex role as both rival and ally, fluctuating between undermining Nobita and reluctantly aiding the team. The film depicts no significant character evolution for Suneo, as his actions primarily advance the plot mechanics of dinosaur rescue and survival.
