TV-Series
Description
Maya Jōga is a secondary character from the series. She is a classmate and close friend of Chino Kafū and Megumi Natsu, and together they form the trio known as the Chimame-tai, a name given by Rize Tedeza. Maya first appears in the anime during the first season, introduced as a lively and straightforward girl who quickly becomes part of the main group's daily life. She has a boyish appearance with short blue hair, a single ahoge, and a prominent fang, and she is the shortest among her friends, though she does not seem concerned about her height.
Maya is consistently energetic, excitable, and mischievous. She acts on impulse and instinct rather than careful deliberation, often taking the lead in activities and pushing others along with her enthusiasm. Her decision-making is simple: she pursues things that seem fun or interesting. She is also blunt and honest in her speech, not hesitating to express her thoughts. Despite her carefree demeanor, Maya is academically strong; she applies herself to her studies and successfully gains admission to a prestigious girls' school through a special scholarship, demonstrating a hidden diligence. At home, she tends to be lazy and relies on her older brother for help, and she openly dislikes formal situations.
Her main motivation is to enjoy life and have new experiences. She brings a dynamic, changeable energy to the otherwise peaceful and stable world of her friends. In the story, she serves as a catalyst for movement and variety, shifting the atmosphere when it becomes too calm. She often borrows Rize’s uniform when helping out at the Rabbit House and looks up to Rize, though she interacts comfortably with all the older characters. Her presence broadens Chino’s social life and adds a lively contrast to the more reserved members of the group.
Maya does not possess any supernatural abilities. Her notable traits are her high physical energy, her quick and decisive nature, and her ability to spur others into action. Over the course of the series, she shows some growth in maturity and responsibility, but her core personality remains consistently cheerful and straightforward.
