Shirara Tsubaki, heiress of the Black Horse Gang crime syndicate, abandoned her inheritance to pursue rakugo storytelling. Her past includes saving gang member Rakuda, securing his lifelong loyalty and eventual promotion to underboss. This act preceded her encounter with master storyteller Byakudanji Tsubaki, whose apprentice she became, cementing her departure from criminal life.

Physically distinguished by fair skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes, she favors traditional kimono attire. Initially clashing with Mameda—a tanuki aspiring to rakugo—their dynamic shifted to mutual concern. Shirara demonstrated care when Mameda faced temporary expulsion from their theater, a test orchestrated for Bunko’s tutelage.

Her relationship with master Byakudanji balances frustration and devotion. She manages his substantial debts, openly criticizing his financial recklessness—once punctuating a debt argument with a jump-kick and the retort "Budapest!" Yet she actively shields his artistic pursuits, aiding his escapes from debt collectors through intricate deceptions.

Despite her father’s role as gang boss and Rakuda’s lingering connection to her past, Shirara unwaveringly commits to rakugo, rejecting any return to the Black Horse Gang. Her focus remains fixed on her artistic path alongside Byakudanji.
