Description
Gabumon features in Digimon Adventure -BEYOND-, exploring events spanning multiple timelines within the Digimon Adventure continuity. In one sequence, he rides inside a car trunk alongside Agumon while their partners, Taichi Kamiya and Yamato Ishida, travel with Cody Hida, Armadillomon, and a boy partnered with Kyaromon. Gabumon detects the approach of the enemy Digimon Crowmon, prompting him and Agumon to emerge. They digivolve into Garurumon and Greymon to confront the threat.

The narrative unfolds across different periods: between Digimon Adventure tri. and Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, between Last Evolution Kizuna and Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, and after The Beginning. Scenes show Gabumon with Yamato in various moments: discussing ongoing battles while seated with Agumon and Taichi; witnessing WereGarurumon and MetalGreymon breaking through a wall during combat; and encountering a light in the darkness alongside Taichi and Agumon. This light surrounds them, leading Gabumon to affirm their commitment to continue fighting. He and Agumon then warp-digivolve into MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon, respectively, and fly into the night sky.

Gabumon is a Reptile Digimon characterized by a timid and shy nature. He wears a pelt fashioned from data left by Garurumon for protection, as other Digimon fear Garurumon. Wearing this pelt causes a complete reversal in his personality. His signature attack is Blue Blaster (also known as Petit Fire), a stream of blue fire or ice-like flames. His loyalty to Yamato is central, often mirroring Yamato's protectiveness and occasional conflicts. This partnership emphasizes mutual reliance, with Gabumon providing steadfast support during emotional or physical challenges.

His evolution line includes Punimon (Fresh), Tsunomon (In-Training), Garurumon (Champion), WereGarurumon (Ultimate), and MetalGarurumon (Mega). In some media, he achieves variants like WereGarurumon Sagittarius Mode or CresGarurumon, and DNA digivolves into Omegamon with WarGreymon. He removes his pelt only in extreme circumstances, such as using it to warm an unconscious Yamato during a snowstorm, highlighting his selflessness despite inherent shyness.
