The character briefly leads early in the race but becomes distracted by a rivalry with DemiDevimon, causing collisions that stall both their vehicles. Their ongoing feud drives repeated sabotage attempts during later stages, inadvertently hindering multiple competitors. In the final stretch, DemiDevimon's attacks knock Veemon out of contention, and both rivals are overtaken by Agumon carrying the remaining participants.
