Description
Bete Loga hails from a nomadic beastkin tribe governed by survival-of-the-fittest principles instilled by his father. At roughly age twelve, monsters annihilated his clan, leaving him the lone survivor—a trauma that forged his core worldview. He journeyed to Orario, joining the Vidar Familia and rising to captain. As leader, he cultivated camaraderie and prioritized mutual strength-building among members. However, during an expedition where he pursued vengeance against the monster responsible for his tribe's destruction, his lover Selenia perished in his absence. This second devastating loss caused the Vidar Familia to disband and depart the city, deepening his wounds.

Bete subsequently joined the Loki Familia following a tavern confrontation with Gareth Landrock, drawn by their power. As an executive member, he achieved Level 5, later ascending to Level 6 during the 59th-floor expedition. His alias evolved from "Gray Wolf" (Fenris) to "Mad Wolf" (Vanargand), mirroring his combat reputation.

His personality is abrasive and confrontational; he frequently insults others, especially those perceived as weak, with brutal honesty. This stems from a conviction that harsh criticism either motivates self-strengthening or drives individuals away from perilous conflicts, thus protecting them. He openly despises weakness yet respects determination and growth, evident in his shifting attitude toward Bell Cranel after witnessing his rapid development. Beneath the hostility lies a protective instinct; he masks concern with aggression, often intervening to save others while denying any care for their well-being. Loki identifies this dichotomy as "tsundere." Fueled by traumatic loss, he refuses relationships with those deemed vulnerable, though he shows implicit care for comrades like Lena Tally and mourned deeply for Lene Arshe, whose death reinforced his belief that emotional attachment leads to suffering.

In combat, Bete specializes in high-speed kicking techniques using enchanted metal boots called Frosvirt, which absorb magic to enhance attacks. His agility ranks highest in Loki Familia, even among higher-level adventurers. Key skills include "Moonlight Howl" (a werewolf transformation under moonlight), "Lone Wolf Dash" (speed boost), and "Hunter" (increased effectiveness against previously fought monsters). His ultimate magic, "Hati," generates flames on his limbs that absorb damage and magic to amplify power. Its association with painful memories makes him reluctant to use it, compounded by its uncontrollable potential to harm allies, reserving it only for dire situations like the Knossos campaign.

Relationships within Loki Familia are contentious yet rooted in mutual respect. He admires Ais Wallenstein for her strength without receiving reciprocal affection. He clashes with Tione and Tiona Hiryute over their leniency but coordinates effectively with them in battle. Riveria Ljos Alf frequently admonishes his behavior, which he deflects with insults like "old hag." Outside his familia, he operates under the pseudonym Allen Fromel to assist his sister Anya’s editing work while posing as a Freya Familia member, leading to an intense, antagonistic rivalry with the actual Allen Fromel.

Bete's development includes gradual acceptance of his place within Loki Familia, recognizing the value of teamwork despite his lone-wolf facade. During events involving the Xenos and Knossos, he observed Bell Cranel’s defiance of societal norms, reacting initially with scorn but later respecting Bell’s resolve. His participation in critical battles, such as the defense of Orario, demonstrates his commitment to protecting the city and comrades, even at personal cost.
