Description
Momoko Asuka, the sixth main character in *Motto! Ojamajo Doremi*, was born in Japan but relocated to New York during childhood due to her parents’ careers. This move eroded her fluency in Japanese, leading to initial social challenges upon her return to Japan. In New York, her early struggles with friendship eased after meeting Majomonroe, a witch who mentored her in English and magic. Their bond inspired Momoko to become a witch apprentice, but her desperate attempt to resurrect Majomonroe using forbidden magic backfired, stripping her powers temporarily.

Standing taller than her peers, Momoko sports chartreuse hair styled in looped pigtails with lavender streaks, pupil-less lime-green eyes, and a cyan clip securing her bangs. Her vibrant wardrobe—a cropped orange shirt, a white skirt with a yellow slit, and yellow suspenders—mirrors her lively spirit. Initially withdrawn due to language barriers, she evolves into an energetic, passionate figure prone to English outbursts when emotional. Her friendships with Doremi, Hazuki, Aiko, and Onpu blossom through managing the Sweet Shop Maho-do, overcoming early tensions with Hazuki and Onpu through mutual effort.

Under the Witch Queen’s tutelage, Momoko reclaims her witch apprenticeship in *Motto! Ojamajo Doremi*, aiding the group with fairy companion Nini and a clover crystal ball. Her nature-aligned spells, like "Perutan Petton Pararira Pon!" and "Perutan Petton, Sawayaka ni!", emphasize healing. A subplot highlights her empathy and resolve as she supports Kotaro Okajima in reviving his family’s kendo dojo.

The novels *Ojamajo Doremi 16* depict a matured Momoko studying patisserie in high school, rejoining the group to assist Onpu while balancing newfound career focus. She adapts to Hana’s cheerleading club and temporarily relocates to China for her father’s job, maintaining ties with friends.

In *Kaeru Seki no Himitsu*, she joins an investigation into a local legend tied to Doremi’s grandparents, showcasing her trademark curiosity and loyalty. Her overarching narrative weaves resilience, cultural adjustment, and friendship, anchored by her goal to honor Majomonroe by reviving the witch’s New York bakery.
