The third son of Sovereign Degwin Sodo Zabi, he belongs to Zeon's ruling family. Physically imposing and scarred, Dozle possesses a gregarious and good-natured personality that inspires deep loyalty in his troops. He frequently leads frontline operations personally, piloting custom mobile suits like the MS-06F Zaku II for impromptu combat missions, often alongside his bodyguard Shin Matsunaga. Dozle prioritizes family loyalty, especially toward his younger brother Garma Zabi, whom he mentors. After Garma's death, Dozle holds Char Aznable responsible and dismisses him from the Space Attack Force, straining his relationship with his sister Kycilia Zabi when she recruits Char. His animosity toward Kycilia intensifies. A devoted family man, Dozle shares a close bond with his wife Zenna Zabi and their infant daughter Mineva Lao Zabi. He also maintains a secondary relationship with Marlene Karn, partly to aid her father Maharaja Karn. Militarily, Dozle authorizes critical initiatives like the mass production of the mobile armor MA-08 Big Zam. He commands the defense of Solomon during the Federation's assault. When the Federation's Solar System weapon blocks escape routes, he deploys the Big Zam Unit 1 to cover evacuations. His final battle ends when the Big Zam is destroyed by Amuro Ray's RX-78-2 Gundam. Dozle ejects and attempts to fight with a machine gun but perishes in the explosion, marking a significant decline in Zeon's military momentum. Alternative portrayals exist.
