Description
Dante Koryu, known as Drum Koryu in the original Japanese version, is a Blader who first appears as the main protagonist of the Beyblade Burst Rise season and continues to play a significant role in Beyblade Burst Sparking, where he is known as a top-ranking competitor. His background begins in Spain, where he was a member of the BC Sol team alongside the legendary Blader Valt Aoi. It was there that he first witnessed Valt and his Beyblade, Sword Valtryek, achieve a powerful state of synchronization known as Hyper-Flux, which inspired Dante to forge a similar bond with his own Beyblade, Dragon. To pursue this goal, he relocated to Japan, where he joined the Victories team, which is managed by his uncle, Tango Koryu.

In terms of appearance, Dante is a young boy with green eyes and blonde hair that features distinct blue, horn-shaped highlights on each side of his temples. He also has bronze-colored, short eyebrows and a red and yellow marking on both cheeks beneath his eyes. In Beyblade Burst Sparking, his attire consists of a yellow collared shirt worn under a jacket, with the jacket's previous yellow sections now appearing white, along with a dark-blue stripe on the wrist collar and bottom border. His jacket flaps bear a combined double D insignia and a red Beyblade symbol, and he wears teal baggy pants with a vertical white stripe on each leg, complemented by white dress shoes and a signature red fingerless glove on his left hand. When Dante resonates with his Beyblade, the blue highlights in his hair emit blue flames.

Dante's personality is defined by an optimistic, passionate, and easy-going nature, combined with a strong sense of earnestness and justice. He is the kind of Blader who charges headfirst into any challenge without holding back, and he has a talent for making friends, partly due to his ignorance of the concept of personal space. He is highly resilient, often refusing to give up and continuing to battle the same opponent until he achieves victory. True to his age, he can also become quite over-confident when excited after winning a battle. Reflecting a common trait among powerful Bladers, Dante talks to his Beyblade and has a profound form of resonance with it. However, he also has notable quirks, such as a habit of making a scary, intense facial expression when he is nervous or excited, which can unintentionally intimidate those around him. Furthermore, he is known for his clumsiness and forgetfulness, which often leads him to accidentally reveal his battle strategies to his opponents or overlook key details of the stadium.

Dante's primary motivation throughout his journey is the drive to help his Beyblade, Dragon, discover its full potential, inspired by the desire to achieve a perfect synchronization similar to the Hyper-Flux he witnessed from Valt Aoi. In Beyblade Burst Sparking, his role evolves from the central protagonist to a significant supporting competitor, where he holds the rank of S-Tier number six. He returns as a powerful rival and a new challenge for other Bladers, participating in major events like the Legend Festival and the Ultimate Tag Series tournaments.

Several key relationships shape his story. Valt Aoi serves as his primary inspiration and initial mentor from his time at BC Sol. He shares a friendly but competitive rivalry with his teammate Arman Kusaba, with whom he had his first major battle in Japan. His dynamic with Delta Zakuro begins tensely but evolves into a strong mutual respect and cooperation, culminating in them fighting together as a tag team against powerful opponents. He also has a fierce rivalry with the antagonist Arthur Peregrine, who destroyed his original Beyblade, leading to Dante's eventual victory over him.

Dante undergoes notable development, particularly through his battles and his growing understanding of resonance. After his initial Beyblade, which could switch between Ace, Glyph, and Rock Dragon configurations, was destroyed by Arthur Peregrine, he upgraded to Command Dragon Ignition'. He later combined his Beyblade with Delta's Master Layer Base to create Master Dragon Ignition'. This period marked his achievement of Hyper-Flux, the deep synchronization state he had long sought. Later, during a critical tag battle with Delta against Gwyn Reynolds and Arthur, Dante unlocked a more powerful and rare ability called Rainbow-Flux, which represents complete synchronization with one's comrades and grants a tremendous temporary boost in power and speed.

Dante’s abilities as a Blader are extensive. Besides achieving Hyper-Flux and the ultimate Rainbow-Flux, he possesses numerous signature Special Moves. These include Dragon Launch, where Dragon builds power by circling and ricocheting off the stadium wall; Spring Cannon, which uses a spring-loaded disc for increased speed; and Glyph Strike, a rapid barrage of attacks. Other techniques include Rock Crash, a powerful collision move, and Ignition Force, where the driver spins to accelerate or change direction. He is also known for his Lightning Launch, a launching style that illuminates and sparkles when a Blader has achieved complete synchronization with their Beyblade. He is noted as the first protagonist in the Burst series to use a ripcord launcher instead of a string launcher. His deep connection to his Beyblade is further emphasized by his ability to communicate directly with Dragon's spirit, a bond that drives him to fulfill his promise of making Dragon the strongest Beyblade in the world.
