TV-Series
Description
Perrine-H. Clostermann is a 15-year-old heiress from an influential Gallian family. Her homeland, Gallia (corresponding to France), suffered conquest by the Neuroi before the series began, leaving deep emotional scars that shaped her behavior, including the destruction of Gallia itself. These events contributed to her early struggles with teamwork and interpersonal dynamics.
Initially displaying a snobbish and arrogant personality, Perrine often looked down on peers for perceived breaches of etiquette, such as improper dining manners. She carried a family heirloom rapier and wielded a Bren light machine gun in combat. Her hostility focused intensely on Yoshika Miyafuji due to Yoshika's close relationship with Mio Sakamoto, toward whom Perrine harbored a possessive crush and fierce jealousy. This jealousy drove her tendency to act alone rather than collaborate with the squadron.
Perrine's magical ability, Tonnerre, unleashes lightning capable of striking multiple targets simultaneously, though she used it reluctantly due to its effect of ruining her hair. Activating her magic via her Striker Unit—modeled after French aircraft like the Arsenal VG-39 or Dewoitine D.520—manifested physical traits of a Chartreux cat, including dark ears and a tail. She held the rank of Flying Officer or First Lieutenant and was originally part of Gallian units such as the 602nd or 802nd Flying Corps, honoring French ace Pierre Clostermann.
Perrine later warmed to Yoshika Miyafuji, forming a strong friendship with her by the movie's events. Her sense of duty deepened, leading her to dedicate her entire salary to Gallia's reconstruction and rehabilitation after its liberation from the Neuroi. She also exhibited a nurturing side, acting as an older sister figure to children and displaying protectiveness toward those she cared about, particularly Mio.
