Its manipulative tactics included using the move Attract to control Pikachu, Piplup, Croagunk, and Meowth, though the move proved ineffective against Yanmega due to gender differences. The deception persisted until Team Rocket were incapacitated within their own prison, revealing Togepi's true nature. Commanding a rocket constructed by Team Rocket, this Togepi traveled into outer space. During the journey, it physically confronted a Happiny. Despite the conflict, the Togepi ultimately intervened to rescue both groups. After facilitating their return, it deliberately orchestrated the rocket's destruction. The Togepi displayed amusement at Team Rocket's resulting predicament before departing. This depiction significantly defies the species' established lore associating Togepi with joy, good fortune, and the storage and sharing of happiness from positive emotions, as noted in Pokédex entries.
