TV Special
Description
Isami Nishimura is a baseball pitcher with a somewhat conceited personality, frequently overestimating his own abilities and narrative importance. His pitching arsenal includes a decent curveball, though he is not perceived as a significant threat by main characters and is easily overlooked. He maintains a persistent, one-sided rivalry with Akio Nitta, whom he considers his primary competitor.

By the events of *Touch: Miss Lonely Yesterday*, set years after the original series, Nishimura has achieved professional success as a baseball star. However, his career is marred by chronic physical limitations stemming from an irreparable elbow injury that remains unresolved despite his prominence. This condition progressively worsens, contributing to a series of defeats culminating in his team's relegation. The injury ultimately forces his retirement, with the film depicting his final professional game. His retirement match indirectly influences spectator Tatsuya Uesugi, reigniting Tatsuya's desire to return to baseball.

Nishimura appears in earlier *Touch* installments, typically serving as a minor rival figure. His role expands in the sequel film, highlighting his career peak and subsequent decline due to physical incapacity. His interactions remain limited, with no significant personal relationships detailed beyond his rivalry with Nitta and his functional presence within baseball.
