TV Special
Description
Hishiri Adashino is an officer in the Clock Tower's Department of Policies, regulating mages and preventing mysticism's exposure. Her life is driven by vengeance against her father, who abandoned his first family after returning from the Spiritual Tomb of Albion, later fathering Hishiri before dying. To prove his worthlessness, she joined the Norwich family and the Department of Policies. This path revealed Doctor Heartless, former head of Modern Magecraft, as her half-brother Adashino Kurou, a connection unknown to either initially. She learned of him through the Department's Intelligence Division, fueling an obsession to confirm his identity.
During the Adra Castle Separation incident, Hishiri managed inheritance affairs while executing Geryon Ashborn's will. She faked her own murder using a prepared corpse, damaging its eyes for identification, and hid to observe guests as part of a Department scheme to eliminate troublesome mages. Confronted by Lord El-Melloi II about luring targets to their deaths, she neither confirmed nor denied, instead challenging his understanding of the Clock Tower's power structures. In the Marburry Workshop incident, she arrested Wills Pelham Codrington on circumstantial evidence linking him to leyline disruptions and his father's death. Convinced of his guilt initially, she released him after El-Melloi II intervened, later providing Waver with Rail Zeppelin documents post-case resolution.
Hishiri played a pivotal role preceding the Grand Roll, informing El-Melloi II of Doctor Heartless's reliance on a Subcategory Holy Grail to sustain his Servant, Faker. She correctly predicted Heartless would act before the Fuyuki Holy Grail War's conclusion due to Faker's dependency. Later, under Reines El-Melloi Archisorte's orders, she collaborated with Goredolf Musik to confine El-Melloi II using a serpentine bounded field, preventing his interference in the Snowfield Holy Grail War. In Fate/school life, she infiltrated Homurahara Academy as school nurse "Kasama," employing illusions to mask her attire and appearance while observing the Fuyuki Holy Grail War.
Her magecraft includes Poison and Water-element affinity. She employs snake familiars crafted from bundled white cloths, animated instantly to restrain targets or seal exits; these become invisible for reconnaissance and dissipate into black fog when dismissed. Her original magecraft fuses Eastern and Western divination techniques, and she utilizes snake-style bounded fields. She wears Mystic Eye Killers glasses to suppress her innate Mystic Eyes of Finding, which locate lost objects and aided her investigations and quest to find her brother. She is described as "a magus of first-rate skill but no sense of being one," her pragmatic approach aligning with the Policies Department's focus on stability over pursuing the Root.
Her dynamic with El-Melloi II is a rivalry likened to Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler, devoid of romantic undertones. She is calculating and remorseless, willing to manipulate others into lethal situations if necessary. Her demeanor is frequently compared to a snake—elegant yet predatory—and she openly expresses disinterest in reaching the Root, viewing it as unattainable.
