Description
Jean Pierre Polnareff, a French Stand user born in 1964 in the French countryside, possessed his Stand, Silver Chariot, from birth but only became aware of it later. His mother's early death left him a lonely child. Three years before Stardust Crusaders, his younger sister Sherry was ambushed, raped, and murdered by J. Geil, a man with two right hands. This tragedy drove Polnareff to seek revenge, leading him to train intensely with Silver Chariot, a rapier-wielding Stand capable of exceptional speed and precision.

Polnareff's quest for vengeance attracted DIO, who lured and brainwashed him using a parasitic flesh bud. Under DIO's control, he confronted Jotaro Kujo's group in Hong Kong. After defeat by Muhammad Avdol and being freed from DIO's influence by Jotaro, Polnareff joined the group's journey to Egypt. His initial goal was tracking down J. Geil among DIO's assassins. During this quest, he battled multiple Stand users, including Devo the Cursed in Singapore and Hol Horse alongside J. Geil in Calcutta. Avdol seemingly died saving Polnareff during the latter confrontation, though he later revealed faking his death to secure transportation. Polnareff ultimately succeeded in killing J. Geil with Kakyoin's assistance, fulfilling his revenge.

Throughout the journey, Polnareff displayed a distinctive personality marked by honor, impulsiveness, and occasional arrogance. He often handicapped himself by explaining his abilities to opponents or fighting in advantageous terrain for them, adhering to a chivalrous code. Even under DIO's control, he refused dishonorable tactics like attacking from behind. He frequently clashed with allies initially, particularly Avdol and the Stand-using dog Iggy, though these relationships deepened into strong friendships. Polnareff served as the group's primary source of humor and emotional expression, openly mourning fallen comrades and bonding through jokes and pop culture references. His flaws included overconfidence in his Stand's abilities, underestimating opponents, and an easily distracted nature, especially by women he found attractive, which Joseph Joestar criticized as "thinking with his crotch."

Tragedy struck again in Egypt during the assault on DIO's mansion. Vanilla Ice, one of DIO's servants, killed Avdol and Iggy, both sacrificing themselves to save Polnareff. An enraged Polnareff defeated Vanilla Ice, discovering and exploiting his vampiric weakness to sunlight. He later participated in the final battle against DIO, piercing the vampire's skull with Silver Chariot despite severe injuries. After DIO's defeat, Polnareff parted ways with the surviving Joestars.

Years later, during the 1990s, Polnareff resurfaced in Italy alongside Jotaro, investigating the Stand-creating Arrows scattered after DIO's defeat. His investigation led him to the Passione mafia and its boss, Diavolo. Tracking Diavolo to a cliffside, Polnareff engaged him in battle but was overpowered by Diavolo's time-skipping Stand, King Crimson. He suffered critical injuries, losing both legs mid-thigh and his right eye, resulting in his use of a wheelchair and an eyepatch. He also acquired a prosthetic right forearm. Taking refuge in an isolated village, he located one of the Arrows. While attempting to retrieve it using Silver Chariot, the Arrow accidentally pierced the Stand, triggering an uncontrollable transformation into Silver Chariot Requiem. This new Stand possessed soul-manipulating powers but went berserk, forcing Polnareff to remove the Arrow quickly.

Learning of a rebel faction within Passione led by Bruno Bucciarati, Polnareff anonymously aided their mission against Diavolo. He arranged a meeting at Rome's Colosseum to reveal the Arrow's potential to defeat Diavolo. However, Diavolo (disguised as his alternate personality Doppio) ambushed Polnareff there. Despite precautions, Polnareff was mortally wounded. In his final moments, he used the Arrow on Silver Chariot again, triggering Silver Chariot Requiem's rampage. The Requiem Stand's power caused mass unconsciousness and soul-swapping. Polnareff's soul transferred into a turtle named Coco Jumbo, previously used by Bucciarati's team for its Stand ability, Mr. President. In this form, he guided Giorno Giovanna and the surviving team members, providing crucial information about Diavolo and the Arrow during the final confrontation. Following Diavolo's defeat, Polnareff continued to exist as a spirit within the turtle.

Physically, Polnareff is depicted as a tall, muscular man with a receded hairline and distinctive silvery hair styled in a tall flat top. He wears earrings shaped like jaggedly halved hearts. During Stardust Crusaders, his attire consisted of a fitted black tube top and light trousers with pouches. He lost two fingers on his left hand and all toes on his left foot during the battle with Vanilla Ice. By Vento Aureo, he had added kneecaps to his outfit, and his missing fingers were replaced, initially with a spike prosthesis and later with a more realistic prosthetic arm and fingers. His injuries from Diavolo left him reliant on a wheelchair, missing his legs and right eye.
