Makoto Tachiuri, known as Uribo, is a ghost bound to the Hananoyu Inn by the tragedy of his childhood demise, which occurred soon after his friend Mineko—the inn’s future proprietor—moved away. Trapped in the inn’s liminal space, he lingers as a restless spirit unable to transcend his unresolved past.

Uribo first materializes to Oriko "Okko" Seki following the car accident that kills her parents, emerging as a spectral guide who nudges her toward rebuilding her life as Mineko’s apprentice.
