TV-Series
Description
"Waka Okami wa Shōgakusei!" centers on Okko, a cheerful and determined elementary school girl who moves to her grandmother’s traditional hot spring inn, Hananoyu, after losing her parents in a car accident. The inn, located in the rural town of Kitahara, serves as both a home and a workplace for Okko, who begins to learn the responsibilities of running an inn under her grandmother’s guidance. When her grandmother falls ill, Okko steps up to manage Hananoyu with the help of her friends and the inn’s quirky staff, including a mischievous ghost named Uribo and a protective spirit named Miyo.

The series blends slice-of-life elements with supernatural undertones, exploring Okko’s daily life as she navigates school, friendships, and the challenges of innkeeping. Each episode often features a new guest at Hananoyu, whose personal stories and struggles provide opportunities for Okko to grow and learn valuable life lessons. Themes of resilience, community, and kindness are woven throughout the narrative, as Okko’s optimism and determination inspire those around her. The supporting cast, including her classmates and the inn’s staff, contribute to the warm and heartfelt atmosphere, creating a balance between lighthearted moments and emotional depth. The story emphasizes the importance of family, both biological and chosen, as Okko finds strength in her connections with others while honoring her parents’ memory.
