Etsuko Tajima assists Mineko Seki with operations at Hananoyu Inn. She is a middle-aged woman with short to medium-length brown hair, characterized by a nice and caring personality. Present when Oriko Seki arrives after her parents' death, Etsuko shows visible happiness at the girl's arrival. Later, when Oriko falls into a pond, Etsuko provides her with new clothes and expresses satisfaction at their good fit. She witnesses Mineko crying after Oriko declares her wish to become the next innkeeper, and upon learning the tears stem from joy, Etsuko also cries tears of happiness. She shares this news with Kounosuke Minoda, and together they express collective joy over Oriko's decision. Etsuko pledges to support Oriko by helping her learn the responsibilities of innkeeping.
