Description
Miyo Akino is the deceased older sister of Matsuki Akino, who died at age seven due to kidnapping and murder before Matsuki's birth. After death, she existed as a ghost residing at her family's establishment, Shuukou Lodge.

She possesses blonde hair, light greyish-blue eyes, and wears a distinctive white flowy dress. Miyo is a mischievous spirit who frequently played pranks on guests and staff at various inns. Her disturbances stemmed from prolonged loneliness and frustration, as her actions went unnoticed by the living occupants of Shuukou Lodge. Despite her outward mischief, she harbored deep-seated loneliness but resisted admitting it.

Miyo's story develops when she leaves Shuukou Lodge and causes significant disruptions at Hananoyu Inn, throwing flowers and spilling water. During a confrontation with Oriko Seki and Makoto Tateuri, her pranks escalate until Makoto physically restrains her. Miyo dismisses Oriko's scolding, secure in her ghostly state, but reacts with surprise when Makoto demonstrates the ability to physically interact by pinching her cheeks. She then reveals her identity as Matsuki Akino's deceased older sister.

Forced to return to Shuukou Lodge by Oriko and Makoto, Miyo witnesses continued indifference when a dropped flower is cleared without acknowledgment. She expresses that this lack of reaction makes her existence unfulfilling, contrasting it with the responsive environment at Hananoyu Inn. Recognizing her profound loneliness, Oriko invites Miyo to reside at Hananoyu Inn. Miyo displays happiness at the offer but initially masks her eagerness with feigned nonchalance. She ultimately accepts and relocates.

As a supernatural resident at Hananoyu Inn, Miyo interacts with Oriko and others, invisible to most humans. She participates in events supporting Oriko, including offering comfort during periods of intense grief related to parental loss. Miyo retains her mischievous tendencies but integrates into the inn's daily life, forming bonds with Oriko and other ghosts. Her presence contributes to the inn's atmosphere and plays a role in Oriko's emotional journey. Later, she moves on to the afterlife alongside other supernatural beings after a final appearance during the local Shinto spring festival ritual dance.
