TV-Series
Description
Commonly called "Misaka's younger sister," this character represents the collective of approximately 20,000 clones created from Mikoto Misaka's DNA via the Radio Noise Project. Researchers obtained Mikoto's DNA under false pretenses of aiding muscular dystrophy research. The Tree Diagram supercomputer predicted the clones would only develop Level 2-3 Esper abilities, far below Mikoto's Level 5, leading to their repurposing for the Level 6 Shift Project. In this project, Accelerator was slated to eliminate them in combat to advance his powers.

Physically, each clone mirrors Mikoto with chestnut hair and identical facial features, though often depicted with distinctively "lifeless" eyes. They wear Tokiwadai Middle School uniforms featuring blue-striped panties instead of modesty shorts. Most utilize specialized goggles to perceive electromagnetic phenomena beyond their natural weaker abilities. Exceptions include Last Order and Misaka Worst, who possess different physical traits.

Initially, neural programming suppressed the clones' emotions, deeming expression unnecessary for experiments. They speak consistently in third person ("says Misaka") and lack individual identities, viewing themselves as expendable lab components. Their shared Radio Noise ability grants electromagnetic manipulation, implanted military proficiency, and connection via the Misaka Network—a brainwave-based hive mind enabling memory sharing, collective computation, and coordination. This network also serves external functions, like compensating for Accelerator's brain damage post-injury.

A pivotal shift occurs when Kamijou Touma intervenes to save clone #10032 during her battle with Accelerator. He rejects her expendability, declaring her unique existence as "the only Misaka 10032 in the world." This act triggers network-wide emotional development. Clones gradually cultivate individuality: #10032 forms an attachment to a black cat and receives a heart-shaped necklace from Touma for distinction. Multiple clones develop romantic feelings toward Touma, while others exhibit behaviors like secret dieting (#19090) or territorial teasing (#10032 toward Mikoto).

Key individual clones include:
- **#9982**: The first clone Mikoto encounters. She displayed curiosity about the outside world and cherished a Gekota badge from Mikoto before her death during Accelerator's experiment, profoundly impacting Mikoto's resolve.
- **#10032**: The most prominently featured clone. Saved by Touma, she adopts a black cat, studies social norms via shoujo manga, aspires to receive a ring from him, and disrupts Accelerator's plasma attack during Touma's battle.
- **Last Order (Misaka 20001)**: Created as a network administrator and fail-safe. She exhibits childlike exuberance contrasting with standard clones and becomes Accelerator's ward after he erases a virus from her system.
- **Misaka Worst**: A separate clone designed for independent operation outside network control, possessing Level 4 abilities.

The collective network develops a distinct meta-consciousness, the "Will of the Whole Misaka Network." This entity expresses broader emotional ranges, humor, and concern for Touma, intervening through possessed clone bodies when necessary. Post-experiment, surviving clones undergo global medical treatments to extend their artificially shortened lifespans. Approximately 10,000 remain active, with several—including #10032—continuing to appear in Academy City events, demonstrating evolving personalities while retaining their characteristic speech patterns and network connection.
